(June 24, 2012)... The Rochester Knighthawks, in conjunction with Rochester Youth Camps, announced today that the team will be hosting its annual youth boys' lacrosse camp next week at McQuaid High School.
The camp will be held the week of Monday, June 25th to Thursday, June 28th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The camps are open to players ages 7-15 and campers can take advantage of either full-day or half-day instruction. Kids will be divided by age and ability.
Kids can learn from local lacrosse star and Rochester Knighthawks/Hamilton Nationals forward Joe Walters on Wednesday and Thursday. The 2012 NLL Champion will join camp directors Andrew Whipple, David Thering and Joe Aquilina. Whipple is a former NLL and MLL player, and is the current head lacrosse coach at Pittsford High School. Thering was an All-American at RIT and Aquilina was a standout at SUNY Brockport, who now serves as the head lacrosse coach at Churchville-Chili. Other Knighthawks players will attend the sessions.
The camps will place a heavy focus on skill development through passing, shooting, ball-handling, in addition to conditioning and team building exercises. For information or pricing, please visit www.RochesterYouthCamps.com or contact Jason Cipolla at (585) 739-1612.
