WALTERS ANNOUNCES TWO HOLIDAY PROGRAMS
10/23/2012 - 4:15pm

(October 23, 2012)… Rochester native Joe Walters will close out 2012 with two lacrosse camps. During November and December, kids will have two opportunities to learn from the three-time World Champion and four-time college All-American.

Walters, who won the 2012 National Lacrosse League Championship with the Rochester Knighthawks, will partner with Knighthawks teammate and two-time NCAA National Champion Joel White to present an offense/defense academy.

The first camp falls on a day traditionally reserved for shopping. On November 23rd, Walters and White will hold THE BLACK FRIDAY Offense/Defense Academy from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Rochester Sports Garden (1460 E Henrietta Rd.). The camp is limited to 40 kids. Download the registration form.

“We want to take advantage of the Black Friday sales at the mall. Just drop your kids off with us, as we elevate their game, while you shop at Marketplace just down the street,” said Walters.

White currently plays defense for the Rochester Rattlers (MLL). He was a standout at Syracuse University, where he was a three-time All-American. Walters played his college lacrosse at the University of Maryland after a successful career at Irondequoit High School. He had a breakout NLL season in 2012, finishing second on the team with 13 points in the playoffs. Walters plays in the MLL for the Hamilton Nationals and has two MLL titles to his credit.

Walters returns with his annual SHARP SHOOTER ACADEMY from Thursday, December 27th to Friday, December 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The shooting specialty camp, set for All Star Sports Arena (557 E Ridge Rd.), is limited to 30 students. The cost is $175 and includes a Nike Dri-Fit Academy shirt. The first 15 students to register will also receive a free STX proton power. There are no age requirements, but please no beginners. Download the registration form.

“It’s a great gift to give your lacrosse player for the holidays,” said Walters.
